Employment

For most of us, work forms a vital and necessary part of our lives

It provides us with the means to support ourselves and our families and helps to give us self respect and stability.  It is therefore very important that we feel secure in our employment.

However, it is quite common to encounter problems at work and to need advice from someone who can explain our legal rights and responsibilities.   Butcher Andrews can help.

We provide comprehensive and clear advice, whether you have a grievance against your employer, you are threatened with disciplinary procedures or are facing potential redundancy.  Alternatively, you may simply want advice on the terms of your contract or in respect of a compromise agreement.

We can advise you on all aspects of employment law including:-

  • Redundancy;
  • Unfair dismissal;
  • Discrimination in all its prohibited forms;
  • Maternity and paternity rights and flexible working;
  • Sickness absences;
  • TUPE transfers;
  • Disciplinary and grievance procedures.

We will explain, in a straightforward and no-nonsense way, your legal position.  We will present solutions to any problems and advise you on the best and most cost effective way forward.  We will help you to resolve potential or existing disputes.

Should you feel that your only option is to bring a claim in the Employment Tribunal we can advise and represent you.

We offer ‘no win no fee’ agreements if appropriate and can also act for you under the terms of your pre existing legal expense policy, should you have one.
