    Darren specialises in Litigation  and Inheritance Tax Planning using Wills and Trusts; the Administration of Estates; Power of Attorney and Court of Protection Deputyship.

    He is a former member of the Law Society Personal Injury Panel and specialises in serious personal injury and clinical negligence cases.

    Darren has been instructed by and successfully acted for numerous clients who have been involved in serious road traffic accidents and injuries at work resulting in brain damage, tetraplegia and paraplegia where substantial seven figure settlements have been awarded. The same high standards of success have been achieved representing clients who have suffered catastrophic injuries as a result of motorcycle accidents.

    He has been equally successful in clinical negligence cases which have included cerebral palsy, child brain injury, failure to treat thrombosis, negligent removal of limbs, dental implants, laser eye treatment, failure to identify breast cancer and inappropriate surgical intervention.

    He also has represented clients whose cases have involved complex issues of mental capacity, suicide as a result of premature discharge from psychiatric care and lack of monitoring whilst under prison care and achieved compensation for the clients/dependants. He has advised clients on cases involving provisional damages; regularly secures compensation for dependants in fatal accident claims and represents clients at Coroners’ Inquests.

    Notable Cases

    ■      Darren secured compensation for one of the rape victims of
            Iorworth Hoare, the so called “Lotto Rapist”, where limitation
            issues were involved.

    ■      He also secured a settlement for the family of a man killed
            in a gyrocopter accident.

    ■      He also successfully represented a client with tetraplegia
            where an initial claim for substantial medical fees following
            hospitalisation in the USA was refused on the basis
            of lack of disclosure.
