For most of us, work forms a vital and necessary part of our lives. It provides us with the means to support ourselves and our families and helps to give us self respect and stability. It is therefore very important that we feel secure in our employment.
If you have been dismissed, or you fear that your employer is about to dismiss you, you will need legal advice from someone who has extensive experience in employment law. This is where we can help you.
In order to bring an unfair dismissal claim in the Employment Tribunal, you normally need to have two years’ continuous employment. In other words, if you have not been in your current employment for at least two years, you will not be able to claim unfair dismissal unless you think the reason for the dismissal was for ‘whistleblowing’ or if you have suffered some kind of discrimination.
It is important to remember that you must normally lodge a claim in the Tribunal within three months of your dismissal. However, you will first be expected to contact ACAS for Early Conciliation, in which case the limitation period is extended.
We will provide comprehensive and clear advice and explain, in a straightforward and no-nonsense way, your legal position. We will act for you in your claim and do our best to secure the most advantageous settlement possible in the circumstances. If the matter goes all the way to a hearing, we will represent you robustly and fairly in the Tribunal.
We offer ‘no win no fee’ agreements if appropriate and can also act for you under the terms of your pre existing legal expenses insurance policy, should you have one.
We offer free initial consultations, so please call us so that we can advise you on the best course of action.
